Sloth

I had about 10 days off from game because I was literally so broke I couldn’t afford the tube fare into central London to do day game. For a few days after that I was really busy at work, and so up until Friday just gone I hadn’t really done any game for 2 weeks. This has lead me to get out of the habit of going out regularly to approach girls, and now sloth has set in.

I woke up today in plenty of time to do a good few hours day gaming in central London. I chilled out a bit, and before I knew it it’s late afternoon. Would be fine on any other day, but I just decided it would be too dead for good day game on a wet Sunday  evening, so I’ve decided to stay at home.

Laziness is a weakness which I must strive to overcome.

Always be social bro’.It should’nt matter where you go.In reality, taking few weeks off of gaming is bullshit. It should always be ON.Not that you have to enter every store looking to # close chiccs. But you should at least be social 24/7 eventhough you have no intention of pick up.
But I get your point though.

This is really interesting, I see you going through the exact phases I went through.

I’ve just started reading a book called “The Now Habit” by Neil Fiore and I’d strongly recommend you read this as a matter of urgency. It’s only 200 pages and is an easy read. It delves into the psychology of procrastrination and how the tricks we try and use to make ourselves do things actually make things worse. Of particular relevance is setting up an internal authoritarian you vs irresponsible you dialogue. Look at your last statement “Laziness is a weakness which I must strive to overcome”. Your frame is all wrong. You’re not lazy! You simply have a massive internal struggle going on between believing this stuff works/pleasure versus uncertainty/pain. Get the book!

Thanks for the recommendation. I actually have a book on procrastination but never got around to reading it (that wasn’t a joke). I downloaded a sample of “The Now Habit” and it looks good. Will be getting it.
